What makes the grass courts better than others

Tennis is a popular sport, which is played on the rectangle courts. There are four main types of tennis courts and they are Clay, Hard, Grass, and Carpet Courts. Grass surfaces are one of the fast ones with low bounce in this sport. Tennis started on these, so that makes them traditional ones. In the International grand slams, Wimbledon is the only one that is played on the grass. Other than that, Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women's Tennis Association (WTP) tour’s matches are played on the turf.
There are some facts about the turf surface:
  1. On this surface, the ball moves faster than the others. With the speed, ball moves faster from one player to other and they have to react fast.
  2. On this surface, the ball bounces lower. Players must reach the ball because it will come fast but stay lower. It gives the competitor very little time to react to the shot.
  3. Players with strong serve and volley shots prefer playing on the turf. This surface gives them advantages in their shots. Their shots becomes more fast and competitors lose the points.
  4. In the Wimbledon, 100% perennial rye grass is used with harder soil beneath. With a harder surface, the ball bounces a little higher and slows down.
  5. It can make this sport more competitive as well as interesting. Nobody can predict the bounce of the in the game and players reacts quick to the fast coming ball. It makes the game unpredictable and competitive.
  6. These courts are harder to play on because of the unpredictable bounce and speed. It makes a player good at the shots and active in the game.
  7. It will improve the power of the shots because the ball hits the racquet more forcefully.
Maintenance of these courts is a bit more costly and time consuming than the others. They must be covered from the rain because rain makes the turf slippery. They must be mown, watered, and cleaned more often. Many famous players successfully played on the grass and won titles like Wimbledon. Sports Personalities like Roger Federer, Venus and Serena Williams, Martina Navratilova, Pete Sampras, Billie Jean King and Stefan Edberg made a name for themselves in the international tennis. There is also a term called grass court specialist for the players who play good on the turf.
If you want to start playing this popular sport, you can find Outdoor Tennis Courts in Norwalk Ct or any city with a grass surface.

What is the best age to learn tennis? Now!

Sure, it always helps to get started when you are young but as far as your love for any given sport is concerned, there are no boundaries. If you know how to let your love for tennis double as the greatest driving force and manage to channel the same in a way that ends up having productive repercussions for you, then there’s nothing more that you can ask for.
As a matter of fact, if you really think about it, sports can be very productive for adults and quite possibly, even more so compared to teenagers or kids.
Why is that so?
Health tends to become a primary concern over time. After say the age of 40 or so, you would have to keep a check on what you eat, your overall lifestyle and the amount of exercise you get. What better way is there to tackle all three than sports? You’d exert, and your trainer would compel you to follow a strict diet at the same time.
That’s not all! The social life of an adult tends to be more important than a teen ager. A teenager might take pride to be self-sufficient and will find a million things to do by him but adults tend to favor having the company of other adults a lot.
It’s also important to face the harsh reality that old age comes with mundane responsibilities. As a result, it’s more for adults to catch a break. This becomes possible through sports.
Tennis is one sport that is perfect for any individual regardless of his or her age or fitness level. It’s one sport that you can start playing as per your current level and gain prowess in, gradually.
If you to have a passion for tennis, and wish to pursue it in the form of professional training, don’t let your age be a barrier because it is indeed a number!
Actually, there are plenty of adult tennis programs in CT and many are making full use of it already. Training is the most fun and simultaneously the hardest part of such ventures.

If you do decide to pursue any such programs, make sure that the environment you find is full of friendly and helpful trainers and comrades.

Once again! Remember! Age is just a number!
